The Boston Ballet is an American professional classical ballet company based in Boston, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1963 by E. Virginia Williams and Sydney Leonard and was New England’s first professional repertory ballet company. It has been led by Violette Verdy (1980–1984), Bruce Marks (1985–1997), and Anna-Marie Holmes (1997–2000). Mikko Nissinen was appointed artistic director in September 2001.

• The Balcony
  Perched at the zenith of the Citizens Opera House, the Balcony seats offer a bird’s-eye view of the stage’s splendor. While these seats may not boast the venue’s most illustrious views, they offer a unique vantage point that captures the entire tableau of the performance.
• Center Balcony
  Choosing a seat within the Center Balcony section melds convenience with a more centralized view. Though one might find themselves at the tail end of the queue for amenities during intermissions, the panoramic sightlines afforded here somewhat compensate for the minor inconvenience, offering a balanced perspective on the performance.
• Orchestra Box Seats
  Box Seats at the Orchestra Level, at the extreme left and right sides of the auditorium, give a strange mixture of intimacy and oblique viewing. • Balcony Box Seats

Unsurprisingly, these tickets sell out within days after they are released and are typically the most expensive seats in the venue.
• Mezzanine
  The Mezzanine is divided into four sections – a mix of beauty and practicality. It’s located in the back of the Dress Circle above a narrow balcony that runs the length of the theatre. The first few rows – especially on the aisle – provide a terrific, albeit elevated, view of the stage and can sometimes be priced less dearly than their more glamorous neighbors.
• Orchestra Seating
  Orchestra seats put you in the thick of the action. You are close enough to feel a part of the on-stage action. The most desired Orchestra seats are those in the central section of the first several rows of seats. There is nothing like being involved in the drama that unfolds on stage. For those unaccustomed to concert-hall seating, the next several rows are still a solid choice, offering an excellent perspective, with the added advantage of being convenient to the lobby facilities.
